8+ years Senior Labor & Employment Attorney, In-House, Seattle, WA
Seeking a senior employment lawyer for our public company Internet client to provide counsel to the business units and Human Resources Department on employment-related matters business-wide. Responsibilities include providing practical advice and counseling regarding labor and employment issues, such as discrimination, disability accommodation, hiring, performance management and discharge, wage and hour, wrongful termination, employee privacy, non-compete agreements, protection of trade secrets, OFCCP compliance matters, and other relevant labor and employment issues. Responsibilities also include managing litigation (open access to outside counsel), government agency investigations, audits and administrative charges, developing and delivering employment law related training, as well as the assessment, selection, and supervision of outside counsel. The position requires a minimum of 8 years of experience as an employment attorney. A mix of corporate in-house and top law firm experience is most preferred, but actively interested L&E boutique practice or large law nationwide law firms.

One of Oregon's long-time technology innovators, known for community commitments both off and on their campuses, is seeking to add an attorney to their IP team. Desired is a technical undergraduate degree (preferably in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Physics; others considered), a law degree from an accredited institution and membership in a State Bar (willing to be admitted to the Oregon State Bar), who is admitted to the Patent Bar and has 2+ years of patent prosecution experience (law firm experience preferred as part). The successful candidate will report to the Chief IP Counsel and will become part of a team focused on patent preparation and prosecution excellence. Specific job duties include writing, reviewing, filing, and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications (in the electrical, software, and mechanical arts), directing U.S. and foreign outside counsel and associates, and supporting invention disclosure meetings. You will maintain current knowledge of USPTO rules and procedures, and may be asked to perform patent searches and assist in other special projects from time to time. This position is focused on patent prosecution and its management, but may include future opportunities for increasing levels of responsibility and movement into other areas of IP practice.
