4+ Years Environmental and Health & Safety - Seattle, WA How does an Environmental Attorney Join a Tech Company? Here it is!
Our large Seattle, WA technology employer is looking for a talented environmental and health & safety attorney to be based in Seattle and support a dynamic and rapidly growing business within the company. The business group is at the forefront of the "cloud" computing and service industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, browsers and more. We are looking for a talented attorney to support our client’s world wide data centers that power their rapidly growing and evolving cloud computing business.

You will be part of a team responsible for counseling the company’s data center business on a broad range of environmental and health & safety regulatory and compliance matters. You will work directly with the world-wide environmental and health & safety teams and report to a senior environmental counsel. Principal duties include providing day-to-day advice on compliance issues, monitoring and advising the business of upcoming regulatory changes, developing and improving compliance policies and procedures, working cross-functionally with other data center teams to ensure compliance, negotiating commercial transactions with vendors, resolving issues that arise in the compliance areas and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries. Some travel, domestic and international, will be required.

Qualified candidates must have four or more years of legal experience advising on environmental laws. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, pragmatic, enjoy working hard and being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. A J.D. degree and membership in one state bar is required. 1. Basic Qualifications: 4-6 years of legal experience in environmental compliance matters, with at least two years at a law firm. Juris Doctor and membership in good standing in at least one state bar.

2. Preferred Qualifications: Health & Safety compliance experience. Previous data center environmental compliance experience. A mix of corporate law firm and in-house experience. Excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines. Common sense, great judgment, and a good sense of humor.

15+ years Associate General Counsel, Compliance. Seattle, WA
Serve as the primary lawyer responsible for counseling one of our client's largest business groups on a broad range of regulatory and compliance matters. Contribute as a member of a larger legal team and manage a team of attorneys and paralegals. Work directly with the business and product compliance groups in areas of product manufacturing, environmental impact, food safety, product safet, international trade and hazmat compliance. Principal duties include day to day advice on regulations, monitoring and advising the business of upcoming regulatory changes, developing and improving compliance policies and procedures, and working cross-functionally with technology teams to implement automated solutions. Qualifications include: 15 or more years of legal experience, including at least 5 years of regulatory or compliance experience with corporations, law firms or government agencies. Experience leading legal teams and developing talent. A mix of corporate law firm and in-house experience is a strong plus. Prefer experience in crisis management and response. Sound and practical business judgment as well as common sense.
