3+ years Construction and Design Associate, PORTLAND, OR
Our law firm client's nationally-ranked Construction and Design Group is seeking an associate who can do contract negotiations with contractors and builders and also support work proceeding to litigation! Construction industry work/client experience is required, as well as outstanding credentials and a progressive record of achievement. This is not a general or commercial litigation opening. Unique timing opportunity to get into the highly-sought Pacific NW market in this role in construction and design. Membership in the Oregon bar is strongly preferred but not required.
5+ years Corporate Counsel - Banking, Finance
We have been engaged to recruit a Corporate Counsel to support our large Seattle technology company’s payments, operations and retail businesses and participate in major strategic initiatives. This position will work closely with the business teams to counsel, strategize, structure, draft and negotiate commercial transactions, software licensing, and product development initiatives. These transactions range from standard contracts to complex, high-dollar-value agreement. In addition, there is a strong preference for candidates who are familiar with the electronic financial services sector to counsel and assist with payments-related matters to support the company’s global retail businesses (e.g., merchant processing arrangements, credit card association rules, NACHA, banking and credit laws, financial privacy). A general background in e-commerce and Internet-related industry is a plus. The successful candidate will also be involved in legal projects as directed, including the administration and resolution of legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries. Candidates must have a J.D. degree and be a member of at least one state bar. The ideal candidate will have a strong transactional and preferably bank regulatory background, with a minimum of 5+ years of legal experience (with at least 3 years at a law firm) required. In-house experience at a technology or internet company is a plus. Attractive compensation package based on experience and includes equity. Must be enthusiastic, enjoy working hard and being intellectually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
